About Dr. Amara

As a clinical psychologist turned mindset coach, I bring a unique blend of scientific rigor and practical wisdom to my work. For over a decade, I studied the neuroscience of belief formation and behavioral change at Stanford before realizing that the people who needed these insights most were not in research labs, they were in boardrooms, locker rooms, and living rooms. I founded Mindshift Coaching to bridge the gap between what science knows about human potential and what most people actually apply in their daily lives. My coaching draws on cognitive-behavioral techniques, neuroplasticity research, and performance psychology to help you identify the mental patterns that are silently running your life, and replace them with ones that serve your highest ambitions. I have worked with Olympic athletes, tech founders, and creative professionals, and the common thread is always the same: when you change what you believe, you change what is possible.

Questions About Mindset Coaching

No. While I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology, mindset coaching is distinct from therapy. Coaching is forward-looking and performance-oriented, we focus on where you want to go and what is getting in the way. If clinical support is more appropriate, I will refer you to a trusted colleague.

Many clients report noticeable shifts within the first two to three sessions. Deep, structural changes to core beliefs typically emerge over eight to twelve weeks. The pace depends on the complexity of the patterns and your willingness to practice between sessions.

Sessions are 60 minutes over Zoom. We begin with a check-in, then move into targeted coaching using cognitive-behavioral tools, somatic awareness, and guided inquiry. Each session ends with a specific practice or experiment for the week ahead.

Yes. I offer team workshops on topics like psychological safety, growth mindset culture, and performance under pressure. These are popular with leadership teams and high-performance sports organizations.
